My name is Kate🌛🌼✨
My mission is to help men and women find a daily practice that will allow them to be the best version of themselves on and off the mat.
To remind ourselves that there is a world without stress and anxiety. That there are simple tools to bring us back to a state of rest and digest time and time again.
My journey into teaching yoga was sparked by my personal struggle with anxiety and depression. Discovering solace in yoga and meditation has enabled me to gracefully navigate life's stresses and concerns.
The scientific research supporting the positive impact of meditation on mental health and chronic illnesses is reassuring. During the depths of my depression, it was my breath (prāna) and meditation practice (dhyāna) that brought me calm and restored balance.
While my physical practice (āsana) has evolved, my initial connection to yoga was rooted in my passion for dance and movement. Yoga, especially in a vinyasa flow with music, felt akin to dance. Completing my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in India in 2018 exposed me to the disciplined Ashtanga, uniting the eight limbs of yoga into a holistic system. This experience revealed the depth beyond just āsana, one of the eight limbs.
Since my first YTT, I've delved into various aspects of yogic philosophy.
In 2022, I undertook a 10-month meditation and mentoring course, exploring breath (pānāyāma), withdrawal of the senses (Pratyāhāra), concentration (dhāranā), meditation (dhyāna), and 'oneness with the self' (samādhi). This course unconsciously nurtured my spiritual practice, sparking a desire to help others activate their potential.
In January 2023, I completed my level 1 Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Course, driven by my curiosity about energy healing and its capacity to foster a healthy energy flow and reduce stress. Furthering my knowledge, I completed an 80-hour Advanced Yin & Restorative Yoga in February 2023 and 100 Hours in Mandala & Shamanism in April 2023—both subjects close to my heart.
Continuing my educational journey, I will have finished a 50-hour Tantric Hatha Training by February 2024. Currently teaching at three locations—Harbour House Kingsbridge, Wellness Warriors Yoga Studio in Modbury, and Port Waterhouse in East Portlemouth—I invite you to join me on the mat. Expect a judgment-free, loving, and respectful space.
